An Enterprise Service Bus (ESB ) is the centerpiece of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) because it facilitates connectivity, speeds up the change process, and provides denmark mobile database control over resource usage. Essentially, an ESB consists of a set of rules and principles for integrating many different types of applications .
An ESB is a very important tool in ERP migration. They act as an “API provider” and offer integration capabilities, greatly minimizing the pain during the ERP change process .
What happened throughout the relatively short history of IT is that SOAP web services were “transformed” into REST APIs and the ESB was “transformed” into API Manager.

In the illustration, we have the example of a company that uses ERP ORACLE, and is changing to ERP SAP. ORACLE is integrated with external applications (third-party APIs), which correspond to the letters F (supplier), B (Bank) and HR.
