Social business is slowly progressing. That is my conclusion after my participation in the Enterprise 2.0 Summit in Paris. If you ask me, the European event in the field of Enterprise 2.0 and Social Business. It is therefore all the more striking that only three Dutch people were present. Hopefully more next year! A short summary.

What is social business? If you visit Frankwatching with any regularity, chances are you already know that. In short, it is about using social media concepts and tools within the organization. This is actually Enterprise 2.0 . Social Business goes a step further; it aims to tackle the internal and external use of social media concepts and tools in an integrated manner to improve the (market of the) organization.

Another important element of social business is that it is about more than improving or setting up communi brother cell phone list cation and marketing differently. Often you see the use of social media starting and ending there. Social business is a change of all elements of the organization: product development, HR, Sales, Service, IT, Communication and Marketing.

During the Enterprise 2.0 Summit, Rawn Shah from IBM gave an interesting, substantive presentation in which he showed what Enterprise 2.0 adds to the primary business processes and components. This year, there was also more attention for the integration of (internal) social media and business processes. Last year, the use of (internal) social media was often an isolated initiative aimed at experimentation. The Alcatel-Lucent case beautifully showed how the use of social tools can change and improve the core of the company.
