What advice would you give to someone doing an internship to help them achieve such a positive result?

A year ago, before starting my master's degree, I would have probably said that social media was essential for everything. Now, I prioritize strategy design, taking into account the type of event, the target audience, the client/company's objectives, etc. Each project has its own unique requirements, and finding the right platform to achieve them is part of the marketing team's job (online and offline).

During your Master's degree, you completed an internship at a hospitality company. Tell us a little about the company where you completed your internship.
J: The Andilana Group was a discovery and a wonderful coincidence. I had never been involved in the culinary world before, and getting to mexico mobile database know the sector up close was a great experience. I was in the marketing department, working directly with the manager. From the start, she involved me in every process, from creating the CRM, creating newsletters, lead generation campaigns, meetings with executives, and executing the online and offline strategies necessary to give visibility to the group's 28 restaurants and six hotels . Being able to taste all the freshly created dishes by the Andilana chefs is a priceless memory. Tasting the product is part of the process of selling it.

Which of the knowledge you learned have you been able to put into practice during your internship?
J: I was fortunate enough to be able to work side by side with the head of the department, and she gave me the opportunity to put into practice most of the concepts studied in the master's degree.

What aspects of your internship that you weren't as good at have you learned and been able to work on?
J: The unification of offline and online . When you're too focused on digital, you miss out on great opportunities in the offline world. Having a global, yet perhaps slightly more traditional, (ADE) vision generates new ideas and resources. My manager specializes in coordinating retail initiatives; this is an analytical profile, and it's essential to focus and design the right strategy, without forgetting the budget.

How did you get your current job at Román y Asociados? What do you like most about working as a Creative Executive?
It's important to meet people in the industry and network , because you never know what might happen. In my case, a friend who has been in the digital sector for many years knew I was finishing my Master's in Digital Marketing and recommended me. In these three months, I've learned a different way of approaching projects, working for more than one client at a time and responding to different types of proposals . It's a job that includes everything from analysis and research focused on the impact social media has on businesses to design and creativity focused on web development, usability, and social media campaigns.

J: First of all, get started. Internships are for fun, for learning, for questioning, and they're important for guiding you. You discover that there are things you're better at than others, or that you like more or less, and it's a good starting point for specializing and finding what you really like . Get involved in the process and experience it as an experience where you're sure to meet people who will make you see things from a different perspective. I recommend it 100%.
