LinkedIn video: this is just the beginning

My tips
And that brings me to a few tips. What have I learned in this short time from my experiment with LinkedIn native video?

LinkedIn video seems to work particularly well when sharing your professional knowledge within your field. Visual tips and tricks that professionals on LinkedIn within your target group can really use.
I have placed all my videos in square format. Square video is well supported by LinkedIn, which is nice. On mobile devices, square video appears larger in the screen and is therefore better viewed.
Use subtitles to make your video understandable if your viewer has audio turned off. LinkedIn is a silent medium, videos are largely watched without sound.
Also, videos with faces seem to work better than visual tips without a talking head . The videos in which I just show some b2b email list tips about an app or a video trick, without myself in front of the camera, are watched considerably less than the videos in which I appear myself.

This is just the beginning! I can tell that there is a lot more to come for LinkedIn native video.

For example, the videos are currently not easy to find in one specific place. I think that in the future there will be a nice dedicated spot for video. A video library that your viewers can browse through. Where you can possibly work with playlists and different subjects to organize your video library.

Currently, there is not much depth in statistics. It is interesting that you can see which companies watched your video, what job titles your viewers had and what region they came from. But what I miss is the viewer retention. How long do people keep their attention on your video? And what kind of device are they watching on? Do they watch the videos with the sound on or off? There will probably be a lot more information about that in the near future.

What is your experience with LinkedIn native video? Do you have any tips? I would love to hear them in the comments!
